Sierra Disposal offers "per-can" weekly service.
There is also an "on-call" version of this service. However, please remember that request
for service must be made before 5 pm on the working day prior to pick up.
This service also provides a Blue Bag Curbside Recycling Program.
Per can collection of normal household refuse (municipal solid waste) & yard
waste excluding:
Refuse is required to be containerized in a sealed or lidded container:
- Cans: NOT to exceed 45 gallons and 60 pounds
NOTE: There are separate rates for 32 gallon and 45 gallon services - cans exceeding
45 gallons will NOT be serviced.
- A 32 gallon bag (NOT to exceed 45 pounds) may be substituted for a 32 gallon can
but will be considered 1 bag = 32 gallon can.
- Items in excess of your contracted service are considered extra and will be left
unless prior arrangements have been made.
- Refuse containers must be placed at curbside and accessible by 5:00 am on the morning
of pickup.
The Collection trucks operate on ALL HOLIDAYS!
Your individual pick up time may vary greatly depending on the:
season, amount of refuse being picked up, weather conditions , or personnel and
equipment issues.
Every effort is made to run the collection routes as consistently as possible; however,
extenuating circumstances will occur.
- Blue Bags are for the Curbside Recycling Program only.
Blue bags containing garbage will be considered extra and will be left or
charged for accordingly.
- If your refuse has not been picked up as scheduled please contact us as soon as
possible to resolve this issue.
- Because most residential areas do not have curbs and winter conditions often
make it difficult to determine where the curbside is, the co-workers will go
back as far as 10 feet from the road's edge for you refuse container.
- All can enclosures must have a clear path to them, be clear of all obstructions
and operate correctly so that the refuse can be removed safely and efficiently.
If the enclosure is lockable, our co-workers carry a 3/8 inch square type key. All
other types of keys should be made available to the drivers.
It is suggested that you secure the key to the enclosure with 1/16 inch wire rope
long enough to access the lock.
Please remember to winterize your enclosure against freezing.
- Animals are a part of what makes this community so attractive. Unfortunately the
refuse that people generate is attractive to the animals.
Collection drivers will make every effort to clean up debris scattered by animals,
within reason, and return the cans in serviceable order.
Minor to severe damage may be caused to cans by persistent animals such as bears.
- If you are going to try animal deterrents, please do not use liquid bleach or other
caustic products.
These products may cause eye and skin injury.
